Whatever, I'll do it tomorrow. Just, guh. Hate statistics.

Christmas party tonight. I don't really have "Christmas-y" clothing, though I do have ornament earrings. Also jingle bell earrings. Hrm.

Bought more ornaments from World Market today. I like that our tree is pretty secular. There's a Santa on there, and an angel, but there is also a dragon, some owls, a turtle, a rooster, and a peacock. When in doubt, put a bird on it!

I was thinking maybe Cthulu, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

A bird on the Christmas tree is supposed to bring good luck!

Really? Nifty! I hadn't heard that, do you know the origin?

I think it's related to two Scandinavian beliefs--that a bird's nest on the tree is good luck, because it symbolizes the home and all things that are supposed to be safe and loving; and the Norse custom of the Juleneg, which is a birds' Christmas tree made from a sheaf of barley. In Sweden, there's a special cake for birds instead.
