Strange Noises

So, I feel like the kid population in my neighborhood has exploded over the past year. Last spring/summer there were barely any children around, just a few that I would see with their parents. Now? There are like, herds of them, running around and playing all over the place. This isn't a "I hate kids, rawr!" post, don't worry. This is just a "I wish the little children would stop screaming like they're being murdered because its really freaking me out" post.

Seriously, at least once a day I hear a god-awful shriek arising from one of their underdeveloped throats, and almost every time I have to run to a window to make sure that a child is not actually being butchered out there on the street in front of my apartment. Like, I get kids are loud, and make noises that adults generally don't, but what is UP with the blood-curdling screams?


I just worry that one day I'm going to hear a scream and ignore it, and it'll turn out that some poor kid got a compound fracture in every bone of their body, and I just sat there listening them scream their tiny little brains out without doing a damn thing about it.

It is probably a good idea to keep checking. You might be able to recognize the screams though. Then you would know which ones are serious and which ones aren't.

I do check, its just frustrating. Ah well, soon it'll be too hot even for the little kids to be out and about. :-P
