Suze on BSG

Suze: So basically, Starbuck shot at Boomer version 2.0 and Helo was all, "Hey! Leggo my preggo!"

Speaking of BSG, I believe I understand now why so many people were so hooked on it. I watched the mini-series with Palmer last week, and have since gone through the entire first season. What can I say, its a really good show! And I have thoughts on it!

Starbuck: Kinda love her, kinda hate her. Love her interactions with the Adamas and the other pilots, kind of hate her and Tigh interacting. Like, I'm sure that I'll get more backstory eventually, but for now it just seems that she knows she's Adama's fave, and is using that to be blatantly insubordinate to Tigh whenever she can.

Boomer: I started out really liking Boomer (I believe I went "Nooooo!" when she was revealed as a Cylon), and liked her and Tyrol together. And then Water happened, and I got annoyed that she 1)didn't put the pieces together and realize she'd blown the tanks, and 2)put it all on Tyrol and then got pissed when he took the last detonator to the Master at Arms. And then Litmus happened, and I got even more annoyed with her. Her and Tyrol's relationship had already cast suspicion on them, and Tyrol's crew member ended up taking the fall for something he didn't do, and Sharon is all "la-di-dah, let's make out!" and gets pissy when Tyrol ends it. DISLIKE!

Boomer v. 2.0, however, is growing on me. Her and Helo have such better chemistry (in my opinion) than her and Tyrol (though Tyrol's emotions ring more true), and I can actually believe Helo risking everything for her after the pregnancy reveal. Plus, its more interesting to see a Cylon that KNOWS she's a Cylon act against her race's interests than to see a Cylon who doesn't know what she is go increasingly more crazy.

The Adamas plus Roslyn: Can I say how much I love it when all three of them are interacting? The actors have such good chemistry together, and it makes me believe that the characters have already forged this unit of cooperation and clashing even though its only been 50 days. Plus, their reactions after Tigh's wife was brought aboard Galactica were hilarious and awesome. Basically, Edward James Olmos, Jamie Bamber, and Mary McDonnell should act together in everything, cause I'd watch the hell out of it.

(Also, omg Jamie Bamber, WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?! Hot damn!)

dude. I know. Over the end of the holidays in Dec, Jack and I started watching BSG. We got through half of the first season and then within the next month or so, we went through the majority of the rest of it. I'm currently watching the last half of Season 4.5 because I just needed a break for awhile and I got hooked on other shows (Pushing Daisies, Party Down, Satisfaction). I was fine watching BSG nonstop until the beginning of S4 and then needed a little break (it gets a little strange....).

But yeah, I <3 BSG.

I'm really enjoying it so far! Four episodes into Season 2, and going strong! Honestly, the hard part is NOT watching it, I have to force myself to do homework. :-P

I know what you're saying .... what I did was make it into a reward mechanism. Do homework ==> watch BSG ... do cooking ==> watch BSG ... do cleaning ==> watch BSG. :)

I really like her! Once I watch the rest of it, we can totally talk about our feelings regarding the awesome women of BSG. Deal? :D

I can't talk about Sharon 2.0 and Boomer much without spoiling the hell out of the show. By the end, though, that story arc is some of the smartest stuff that has been on TV, and explored some really intense crap about free will, choice, and circumstance.

And Kara Thrace is my girl.

totes agree! I think that it's going to take me at least 2 rewatches to fully understand the intricacies. It's like reading a book full of symbolism and needing to rearead it several times before you even think you got everything (and of course you didn't).
