Hey hey we are a hurricane
Aug. 28th, 2011 03:38 pmCome on Irene
I swear (well he means) at this moment you mean everything...
So I paraphrased a little!
Well, in the words of Max Brooks, we lived through one rather sketchy night. But all is fine! We did stock up on non-perishables, and I bought a wind-up lantern just in case, but the worst we got was a bit of flickering. That's not to say I took it lightly! We live on the sheltered side of the building, facing the courtyard, and even that area was getting a beating! The center of the courtyard flooded, I guess the drains couldn't handle that much water at once. (It has since subsided)
But yes, we are fine, my family is fine. Loki was not a big fan of the rapidly changing barometric pressure (he was a brat all afternoon) but once the storm really kicked in he actually calmed down.
Today we're meeting up with friends to hang out for a bit, then going to Rockville so Palmer and his friends can do their fantasy football draft. Dorks.
