Art and bitching (the art of bitching?)

So, Palmer and I have lived in this apartment for over a year now. It has taken us a pathetically long time to accumulate any sort of art on our walls, but it has been occurring. Slowly. (Very slowly). Well, today I received a new art piece I'd ordered, and couldn't wait to hang it up. After getting it on the wall, I realized that we still hadn't put up a painting we'd bought months ago, and since I already had the stud-finder out... It took a bit of cursing, shaking the stud-finder, and downloading a Level app onto my phone, but I eventually got it hung up properly. And then I decided to take pictures!

Typographic map of DC. Over a year ago,
shadesong (I think) had a post mentioning typographic maps of Boston. I checked out the artist's website, and it said a DC map was in the works. The second it was up, I was on it! I love me some carto-typo-graphy! Which is totally a real word, and not something I made up just now.

The popular corner. Long-time readers may recognize the large frame on the right, I've had that piece (a woodblock print created by my father's now-deceased cousin) for about 5 years.

A close-up on the cluster, which includes a watercolor by Randy Milholland of S*P, zombies vs pirates, a two-headed unicorn, a happy robot (all three purchased at Emerald City Con 2010), an angry crab by Andy (Butcher) Mrotek, a monster drawn for me thanking me for a donation to the SF AIDS Run, and a poster full of fictional business cards (please note Umbrella Corp and Stark Industries, among others).

This is the one that required the stud finder and a level, but I think it was worth it. Capitol building superimposed inside a Metro station, I freaking love it!
Last, but certainly not least, is the work of art I received today:

Oh that's right. That, my friends, is an inflatable shark head mounted on my wall. It is ok to be jealous, I know I would be. :-P
Onto bitching! Wait- I can't actually remember what I wanted to bitch about (I was angry this morning for whatever reason), so have some minor inconsequential shit!
-Tattoo itches and stings, and is starting to peel. HEAL, DAMMIT! (It doesn't help that I keep hearing "You did this to you!" anytime I want to start complaining)
-I know I need to clean my apartment more, but I'm so lazy...
-I bought Teriyaki beef jerky instead of Peppered beef jerky. Disappointing. Except not, because it turns out that Teriyaki beef jerky is pretty delicious.
That's it!
