Flash is hella fun. I'd recommend a basic class, but if you don't have time for one, Adobe makes a book called "Flash CS4 Professional: Classroom in a Book" which is my textbook. Each chapter is a "lesson" that teaches you how to use various tools, and each lesson moves on from the one before. For example, Snakes in Space was from Lesson 3, where we learned how to make and manipulate "symbols" (the snakes!) and how to move objects in 3D (the text!).
